Event Photographer Manchester - Casey Wellbeing Day
Casey Wellbeing & Resilience Event at The Monastery Manchester
The Casey Group
The Casey Group are an environmentally-friendly and sustainability focused construction company. Founded in 1968 by Peter Casey, the Chairman, the Casey Group has grown to its current position by responding positively to an ever changing marketplace and legislative controls.
Casey describe themselves as:
“We are proud of our history and of the people, past and present, who have contributed both individually and collectively to our success. Consistently important throughout our history we have maintained the belief that to be sustainable, we have a responsibility to look after our environment and our people. Set up as a family business with strong family values, we continue to maintain a strong ethos of encouraging every person across the company to achieve their potential and contribute to our success and our company purpose of “Improving Lives”. The Casey policy has always been to support the growth and prosperity of our communities. We believe we have the responsibility to give back and make a positive difference in the communities in which we live and work, recognising that when communities thrive, individuals and businesses do, too.
Employee participation is crucial to ensuring that social contribution activities are truly meaningful. Accordingly, we encourage our employees to be aware of social issues, strive constantly to deepen their understanding and to come together and contribute to our local community participating in fundraising initiatives, community projects and other activities.
We are committed to tackling unemployment and labour market inactivity by creation of jobs, skills, training and volunteering opportunities and by providing better quality of jobs in terms of pay and progression opportunities, particularly in the areas in which we work. We work alongside employment support groups in the local areas to provide people with advice and guidance to help them navigate a route towards a sustainable and rewarding job or a return to education or training”.
Events at The Monastery Manchester
I was booked as an Event Photographer Manchester, to capture Casey’s Wellbeing & Resilience Event at The Monastery Manchester. The Monastery is an incredible and unique place for an event or wedding. If you have never visited, you really must. Even driving past the building is an experience. It’s HUGE!
As ever, client asked me to just ‘do my thing’ and get some great images, capturing the essence of the day. So, armed with a couple of silent shooting Nikons, I arrived early on the day as Casey’s Event Photographer Manchester and got to work. I love working at The Monastery Manchester. Here’s a wedding from my ‘Saturday Job’. Though today was midweek, and I had my Event Photographer Manchester hat on with 250 Casey Directors and Staff in the audience to photograph. I know a lot of the people at Casey as I have worked with them for a number of years. I photographed around half of their 40th Anniversary book a few years back. It was great seeing them all again, having fun and excited about what was to come. I was also getting some great photos as an Event Photographer Manchester too.
Motivational Speakers at a Manchester Event
The main speaker and MC for the day was the very engaging and funny Brad Waldron from Intelligent Inspiration. Wow, can this man fill a room with energy! From the off, Brad was incredible. Funny, sarcastic, entertaining, but above all motivational, giving me some great photos as this Event Photographer Manchester. He had the 250 or so guests spellbound with his presentation. With a mixture of Q&A, plus a combination of a technology-based poll /quiz using a system called SLIDO, Brad engaged everyone with their mobile phones for an awesome, instant interactive experience.
Jason Fox Who Dares Wins
The guest speaker for the day was Jason Fox - a former SAS Sargeant turned TV Presenter with the show ‘Who Dares Wins’ on Channel 4. As an Event Photographer Manchester, I got to speak to Jason for a few minutes before he took the stage. Such a nice guy…very humble and approachable. Don’t let the moody photos online put you off! Jason took to the stage for around an hour, talking about his experiences in the forces, PTSD, and mental health. His insight into wellbeing and good mental health at work was brilliant to listen to. I know I shouldn’t, but I had to have one ear on Jason’s presentation as this Event Photographer Manchester.
We finished the day with a heartfelt message from Chris Casey, together with a few staff members, openly discussing mental health issues, from depression to grief and anxiety. A very moving and emotional part of the day, and one I approached with absolute stealth and unobtrusiveness as an Event Photographer Manchester. There were a lot of hugs going around to finish the event. You can read more here.
