Amelia’s Headshot Session
Amelia’s Headshot Session
Amelia was one of forty staff I photographed recently, and one of the first ‘in the queue’. A lovely young lady, slightly nervous of the shooting setup in the office. The photo above was the first of her as a Manchester Headshot Photographer. You can see the setup in my phone photo below. As a Headshot Photographer Manchester, my job was to create a set of images for the company, all matching in terms of pose and ‘look’ - expression and friendliness. Obviously it’s difficult to achieve this first time with every person - some love the camera, most hate it (myself included!) As a Headshot Photographer Manchester I shot a collection of around thirty images of each person, and sent through a contact sheet (which looks surprisingly like the gallery of images below) for each person to choose their professional photo for the company website and for Linked In profile photos. Some people chose more than one, wanting a more ‘smiley’ version for their social media prescence - good news for this Headshot Photographer Manchester.
Headshot Photography In Manchester
As a Headshot Photographer Manchester I get to meet and photograph a lot of people, from all walks of life. So, I thought I’d share this little session with you, showing what can be achieved in around five minutes or so (yes, we were busy with forty people to capture on camera). The twelve images are some of the thirty or so I photographed of the lovely Amelia. On some she blinked, on some I went too quickly for my lights, so the exposure changed. But these base the story of Amelia’s five minutes in front of my Nikon camera. The session was good fun, with lots of laughs, but Amelia’s expressions are just brilliant. Not standard in any way really, Amelias set of photos were some of my favourites from this session as a Headshot Photographer Manchester. Oh, the chosen version is the one in the middle…
Lighting for headshots
I used my battery-powered studio lights for Amelia’s headshots. As a Headshot Photographer Manchester, I love these strobes. They are industrial-grade flash units I can take anywhere. At 300w each, I also have plenty of power. You can see from my phone image how I set up as a Headshot Photographer Manchester in the small meeting room. The camera was on a tripod all day, so all the framings matched for the forty people. The background is a fold out white plain area to throw some pure white light onto, to create that clean look. The main light is my favourite 130cm umbrella softbox, and makes everybody look gorgeous!
